About.com Article: The Walker Stalker - an Interview with Sue Chen (click to download pdf) "Imagine for a moment that you have an old, aluminum folding walker with 2 old tennis balls stuck to the bottom of the legs. You probably really don’t like your walker very much because it is unattractive and doesn’t get you easily from one place to the next. However, it is all you have and there aren’t any other options out there for you to choose from. Or are there?"

A World of change for Azima Zaidi (click to download pdf) "Much joy and anticipation abounded as Azima Zaidi arrived to her host community of Eugene Oregon. She was greeted at the airport by not only her excited Host family but the President, International Director and Admissions Director of her school as well. After months of challenging placement efforts pieces fell into place for Azima to begin her year as an AFS /YES Sponsored Programs Ambassador.
In the days after Azima’s arrival to Eugene her life as she knew it, as well as all others around her, would be forever changed. Azima’s Host mother, Harriet Behm, utilized her extensive community ties to open doors of opportunity for her new host daughter. Eugene Oregon, known as being a hub of innovations for peoples with disabilities, has proven to be a plethora of discoveries for Azima.
During an interview with a local CBO, Lane Independent Living Alliance, Azima shared her need for a motorized wheel chair. A staff person commented that they have been housing a donated chair for well over a year and perhaps it could work for Azima. After a test drive and confirmation of it being a perfect fit for her, Azima was given the wheel chair as a gift from the organization.
In addition to the motorized chair, Azima’s host family was in need of a light weight, easy to take along, transport chair. This call was answered after some networking efforts by a past AFS Host mom who contacted a friend that worked with the company, and another incredibly generous donation was made, this time from the CEO of Nova Medical Products, Sue Chen."
